Celebrating 25 years of Oakwrights
This year, our team gathered to celebrate Oakwrights' 25th anniversary. We marked the occasion with our annual summer BBQ, reflecting on how far we’ve come since we first opened our doors in 1999.

Today, we’re proud to employ 130 skilled individuals, with our headquarters based in Swainshill on the western edge of Hereford and our workshops just down the road in Sugwas.
Over the past quarter of a century, we’ve had the privilege of building more than 2,000 oak-framed homes, along with hundreds of outbuildings, garages, and extensions. Our founder, Tim Crump, who’s also celebrating his 60th birthday this year, has guided Oakwrights to become one of the leading names in oak frame construction.

Tim’s passion for oak framing and engineering is at the heart of everything we do, and he’s a strong advocate for supporting local skills through initiatives like NMITE. We’re committed to keeping Herefordshire at the forefront of timber framing and ensuring a steady pipeline of talented workers for the region.
A message from our founder
From the mega-manors of the nineties and noughties to the high-performance homes that we build today, oak and timber frames remain a top choice for self-builders, and we look forward to the next 25 years.

Best Custom Build 2023
Best Custom Build 2023
One of the most exciting developments has been our custom build offering, where we partner with landowners to offer oak frame plots to self-builders. Our first project, Webb’s Meadow in Lyonshall, has been a huge success, with 13 self-builders creating beautiful oak frame homes that have earned three industry awards in the past 18 months.
