Timber Frame Designer

Full time / Permanent / 40hrs a week

Salary: £35K – £38K per annum, DOE + Benefits

Are you a talented and experienced quality timber frame designer looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team.

You will be at the forefront of our exciting new offering, “Elements,” a specialised timber frame-only solution. You will create bespoke timber frame structures that embody our commitment to superior quality, sustainability and stunning design.

This role is crucial to the innovation, development and success of “Elements,” ensuring it exceeds client expectations and sets new industry standards.

As our Timber Frame Designer, you will assume responsibility for:

  • Design and Detail: Create softwood timber frame panels, roof elements, and engineered joist layouts.
  • Technical Drawings: Produce detailed construction drawings, cutting lists, CADCAM files, and documentation for client approval, manufacturing and site installation.
  • Project Management: Oversee design programmes, ensuring delivery of high-quality, budget-compliant designs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and building regulations.
  • Support: Provide technical advice to site teams and maintain strong customer relationships.

In order to be successful in this Timber Frame Designer role you should have:

  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in timber frame design.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD and preferably other 3D design software.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong design awareness and ability to produce high-standard manufacturing information.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
